  1. Cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs story… The RPI is often used by college coaches to locate potential student-athletes. It’s a starting point. It serves a purpose but remember, it’s just a tool. In my opinion, junior players, parents, and their coaches should steer clear of setting goals that revolve around rankings. If junior is serious about tennis, have the coach work with junior to set a few obtainable goals that revolve around development, not rankings or results.

  2. Would you like to hear a different story, where a tennis player stays in the game only because parents put themselves inside of the process all the time?

    Coaches love to say that parents know nothing about tennis. But actually parents, being around the court for years, can learn more than most of coaches – as they have a kind of motivation that coaches do not.

    So please write your next article about parents who save their kids tennis career from unprofessional, selfish coaches.
