About us

Robert Landsdorp and Valery Yalouskikh 300x267 About us

My name is Valery Yalouskikh. I’ve been playing sports since I was seven years old. I’ve tried everything from gymnastics to handball. After that, for more than ten years, I’ve been doing track and field at a good amateur level: 100 meter sprint – 11.5 seconds, the long jump – 7.1 meters. I lived in Minsk for most of my adult life. In Belarus, I worked as a business consultant. The first time I picked up a tennis racquet was when I was 27. Not surprisingly, my tennis coach became my children’s first coach as well. My oldest son, although he didn’t play for a very long time, still retains his love for the sport to this day. The youngest one really got involved in tennis, and with him came our whole family. So in 2003, tennis became the family sport.

From 2008, I have lived in the US. Since 2010, my youngest son has been playing for University High School in Irvine, CA. Their tennis team is the best in the nation. During that time, I opened my own blog on a Russian tennis website.

I mostly write about things regarding the development of young tennis players. I’ve cooperated with many well-known coaches and specialists. Among them are John Evert, Johan Kriek, Allen Fox, Phil and Taylor Dent, and some others tennis coaches and experts. In this blog, I  focus on questions on the topic of development of a strong tennis player and other tennis issues. I am confident that many tennis players, coaches and parents will be able to find a lot of useful and interesting information here.
